How to get started

Because HVACR systems have become increasingly complex, employers generally prefer applicants with postsecondary education or those who have completed an apprenticeship. You can get hired directly by a company or union into an apprenticeship program, But without some form of education before hand and during your early years in this field, it will take at least 5 years to really qualify as a master HVAC technician.  You can speed that up by 2 to 3 years with prior formal training.
